St Peter Chanel School

As part of a community focussed school we pride ourselves in maintaining a collective vision toward the development of each student and assisting them in the roles they undertake as part of our community. Key aspects within our school that help this growth are areas of planing, faith and parental participation.

Our Vision
Founded on Faith. Living life to the full by being creative, caring, life long learners contributing to God's world.

Ko te whahapono kei te putake. Kia whai hua ten oho ki tenei ao. Ka whai kia, auaha, ngakau atawhai ako a mate noa takoha kit e ao o te Atua.

Strategic Plans
A formal self review occurs annually and from this a strategic plan is prepared for the following year. There is community consultation prior to devloping the strategic plan. This helps in setting goals and curriculum emphasis based on development requirements. In this way the School will continue to meet the national curriculum and education requirements.

Mass
Participation in Mass and preparing the liturgy is a very important aspect of our school life. There is one Parish/Family Mass per term which full attendance is expected. The newsletter will advise you of the dates of these.

Parent Participation
Our school encourages parents to be actively involved in the affairs of the school. This participation can take place in a variety of ways and can occur in classrooms, sports fields, library, committees, attending mass, etc. Any practical involvement is greatly valued.

St Peter Chanel primary also has a very active and effective Parents Group that fundraises for our School. It is run by parents and all parents are welcome to join the Committee. This commitee is responsible for the organising of regular projects such as: catering, fundraising and galas.
