Motueka St John Ambulance Service

St John Volunteers

It takes a special person to be a St John volunteer. Are you up for it?

Volunteers are the backbone of St John. Join one of the most respected organisations in New Zealand. The work is demanding, the hours may be long, you may never get paid less, but the rewards are out of this world. Learn practical skills to help your community, work alongside experienced officers, and received NZQA recognised training.

 * How much time do I need to give?
We ask that volunteers do it least three shifts per month. There is also some time involved with training. This may be a day shift from 7am to 6pm or nightshift from 6pm to 7am.
 * What is the cost for me?
St John covers all costs including training in uniform.
 * Am I required to work by myself?
No, as a volunteer in Motueka you will work with one of our full-time staff.
 * What training will I receive?
St John will provide training to NZQA level, which includes the National Diploma in Ambulance Practice.

St John Youth Leaders

St John is looking for two motivated people to be trained as youth leaders in Motueka. The new leaders will help run St John's Youth Division.

District Youth Manager Tracey Simonsen says: "Without these youth leaders, we may not be able to run the division this year, which would be an immense shame for the kids."

Tracey says the St John Youth programme is one of New Zealand's biggest and fastest growing youth programmes. It provides more than 4500 young people with opportunities to meet new people, learn new skills and work towards goals. If you're interested, phone .
