Maori Wardens provide a number of specialist services to the community generally on a voluntary basis, which can include:
- Crowd control
- Traffic management
- Safety patrols and Event Management advice
- General security patrolling
- Marae duties as required, and protocol information
- Education seminars on the role of Maori Warden
- Other duties as outlined in section 30-35 of the Maori Community Development Act 1962
