Motueka Online opens 2013 local election coverage

August 21st, 2013

Motueka Online has set up a section of this website dedicated to the forthcoming local body elections, featuring candidate profiles and a discussion and question-and-answer forum.

The gateway to this part of the site can be seen near the top right-hand corner of the home page, above "Coming events", and can also be accessed via this link.

All candidates for Tasman District Mayoralty and Council and the Motueka Community Board have been offered a free page on the "candidate profile" section to put on it what they like. Browse the profiles submitted so far.

This website also wants to encourage voters to express their own views, and to ask questions of specific or all candidates, on matters relevant to the election and the positions sought.

To this end, we offer a forum which is open to all comments, debate and questions - all you need to do is email your contribution and all others can see it. No anonymous messages will be published. View the forum and have your say here.

These are important elections for everyone in Tasman and Motueka, and many very good candidates have put themselves forward. Please take the opportunity to engage in democracy through the election process.
