New web-based business starting in Motueka

August 24th, 2016

A new company has been set up in Motueka offering specialised business skills and knowledge training delivered to anywhere in New Zealand using the latest webinar technology.

Betterbizz is the brainchild of Annie Semmens (pictured), who believes that running webinars (seminars on the web) is much less expensive for businesses than hiring hotel training rooms and the travel costs and time involved.

"Webinars allow the training to come to you, in your office or home, rather than the other way around," Annie says.

"Traditional training involves travelling time, and possible accommodation costs, so there are big savings to be had by all participants. This means much lower training costs without sacrificing quality."

It is also another example of how Motueka-based businesses can work with clients anywhere on the globe, opening markets far broader than within driving distance.

"Betterbizz aims to improve on the content and quality of their training compared to many NZ courses, particularly in sales training skills," Annie says.

"One of our trainers has over 5500 hours experience in training and coaching sales personnel. It's all about how to do it, not what to do."

In addition to selling skills, other topics planned include making, presentations, employment and Health and Safety updates, modern business writing, business dress sense, negotiating with buyers and some technology topics.

"We will be inviting our members to request training topics that they particularly want, so we can keep focussed on meeting members' needs."

Each webinar works by emailing the members to join each training session. Clicking on the link in the email takes you straight to the training session where you are face to face with the presenter.

Once in, you can ask questions to the presenter to clarify any points. Two webinars a month are planned.

As well as on-line contact, Betterbizz are also building local networking groups with its members where feedback, training topics and promotion can be discussed monthly.
