Driveway improvements for Memorial Hall set to begin
June 21st, 2016
Long overdue driveway improvements around Memorial Hall will mean restrictions on vehicle and pedestrian access for two weeks, starting next week.
The drive between the hall and the library, which runs around the hall to come out beside the Countdown car park, has been in poor shape for some years, with a variety of concrete and asphalt patches detracting from the utility of the buildings it serves.
Tasman District Council will create a uniform surface, including to car parking areas down the side of the hall and parking spaces between the hall and the Laura Ingram kindergarten at the back.
They will also improve markings and signage to emphasise that it is supposed to be a one-way drive.
Driveway improvements will be carried out from June 27th to July 8th, depending of course on the weather. During that time the areas within the red line in the photo below will have restricted access, including for parking.
