Motueka's popular phone directory goes on sale
October 10th, 2014
[by David Armstrong]
The 2014-15 edition of the popular Motueka telephone directory is now available, sporting yet another great cover photo showing a local scene.
The Motueka & Districts Lioness Club produces the directory each year and sells copies for a local charity or project.
A particular feature of the listings in the book is the larger font size, making it much easier to read than the ever-shrinking traditional white pages, plus the advertisers are listed in an index in the front of the book.
This Business index is always particularly useful to new residents to the town, as is the map at the rear of the book.
Listings include Motueka's satellite villages as well as phone subscribers in the main town.
The front cover features a beautiful photo taken by Roy Hart, looking from the walkway in front of Trewavas Street, across the water to the Kina Cliffs and snow-clad ranges beyond.
This photo was selected as the People's Choice winner at the Motueka Lioness Club Festival Of Craft Show held in early July.
Proceeds from past telephone books have assisted a variety of local organisations, with last year's going towards the Kaiteriteri Cycle Trail underpass and the purchase of new cutlery for the Memorial Hall supper room.
The new books will be on sale at the Lioness Club forthcoming Jam Stall at New World supermarket on October 16th and 17th, and can also be purchased at the Motueka i-SITE, Image Creators and Paper Plus. The cost of this year's book is just $5.
This wonderful local asset and project is possible through the work of the Lioness Club' phone book committee, who give thanks all the advertisers, and particularly to Image Creators, who designed the front cover and produced the book.
