#LoveMotueka campaign a roaring success already
November 6th, 2014
The no-cost social media campaign #LoveMotueka has been a roaring success, developing worldwide conversations about Motueka involving tens of thousands of people.
The Facebook and Twitter campaign, developed by local online business expert Johny O'Donnell, was launched two months ago (see our story here), and today the number of "likes" on Facebook reached 3,000.
At the time Johny said the aim of the campaign was to "engage our town in a campaign to start a conversation about what we love about Motueka and showcase our slice of paradise to the world".
#LoveMotueka would "foster positive conversation about Motueka rather than the usual moans and groans. We hope it will grow into a resource for locals and visitors, shamelessly promoting our town and its talented people and amazing businesses."
A post on its Facebook page today, with a 'thank you' note, says "tens of thousands of people from all over the world have seen our posts and engaged in a conversation about #LoveMotueka".
"The impact from such promotion of our slice of heaven is impossible to measure but it's at least got us talking about how lucky we are!"
Facebook users can view and 'like' the Love Motueka page by typing the term into the Facebook search box, or even into a Google search. They will find a stream of posts - mainly photos - posted pretty much daily by people saying what Motueka means to them.
Johny now has an informal team of people contributing to ensure the momentum is maintained.
