Art Group to sell paintings for Christchurch

At least 30 members of the Motueka Art Group are raising funds for the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal by donating their paintings for sale over the next month.

From today, the paintings are on display and available for purchase at the BNZ and AMI Insurance offices, and at the ANZ Bank in June. All money from purchases will go to the appeal.

The Art Group is used to selling its members' works: in recent summers they have mounted large-scale commercial exhibitions at the Chanel Arts Centre, and these have increasingly resulted in many pieces being sold. (See our story early this year.)

Motueka people and, in particular, tourists in the area have come to appreciate the quality of paintings that is coming from the group, and the affordable prices.
