Competitions announced for godwits' welcome

The Motueka Arts Council is supporting "Welcome to the Godwits" with events including a children's art competition, adult's photographic and literacy competitions.

There are four competitions: photography, poetry and short story for adults, and art for students (three age groups). The subject for all competitions is "Motueka Sandspit and Estuary - Summer Home of the Godwits." This can be interpreted broadly and include anything to do with that area, such as birds, landscapes, estuary wildlife, sea, sand, etc.

All entries will be displayed in the Motueka Memorial Hall during the weekend 11/12 September. Winners will be announced and prizes presented on Saturday afternoon. Entries close on September 2nd or 3rd (check which for each competition).
