February 25th, 2016

The big annual family fishing contest run by the Motueka RSA Fishing Club is coming up again in three weeks, with some great prizes on offer.

The McCashins Brewery-sponsored contest will be held over the weekend Friday 18th to Sunday 20th March, the focus being to reward those who enter fish.

The prize for the heaviest snapper is $1000, with prizes down to sixth place for all categories.

There are also prizes for the average weight for fish in all categories - where 10 fish or more are entered. There are prizes for children's entries and some great spot prizes.

Submission of entry forms closes at 5pm on Friday 18th March, when the fishing competition begins. The weigh-in of fish is completed between 1pm and 3pm on Sunday 20th March at RSA car park in Motueka.

Entry forms can be obtained from Coppins, Stirling Sports in Motueka and RSA Motueka, Hunting and Fishing in Richmond, McCashins Brewery in Stoke and the River Inn in Golden Bay.
The major sponsor is McCashins Brewery and other sponsors include Knapps Lawyers, Liquorland, Gun Shop, Coppins and RSA Club.
