Motueka phone book to support swimming pool project

October 15th, 2015
[by David Armstrong]

The Motueka Lioness Club has released for sale the 2015 local phone book, with all the proceeds this year destined to boost fundraising for the covered Motueka Community swimming pool.

The local phone book, which includes listings for Riwaka, Tasman and Moutere areas, is popular as much as anything else for its larger font size, compared to the tiny print of the standard Nelson/Tasman phone book.

Another big plus is that all the local advertisers are listed in an index in the front of the book, making it easy to find the types of services required. This is always particularly useful to new residents to the town, as is the town map at the rear of the book.

The phone book also features local images on the front cover, and this year it shows the three murals which were completed at the time of going to print - Adventure Tourist, Horticulture and the History of Motueka Industry.

The publication's layout and content editing was done by Andy and Jody at the Motueka printer, Image Creators.

The books cost $5.00 and are sold at Motueka i-Site, Paper Plus, Riwaka garages, Tasman Store, Kaiteriteri Store, Image Creators and individual Lioness members.

As usual, all of the profits are put back into the community, and this year this will be to help restart fundraising efforts to enclose the High School swimming pool and make it a covered aquatic facility for the whole community.

This local asset and project is possible through the work of the Lioness Club' phone book committee, who give thanks all the advertisers and particularly to Image Creators.
