Community workers featured in Maori TV show
January 13th, 2015
[by David Armstrong]
Two of Motueka's most active community workers were featured in a 10-minute slot on the Maori TV news programme, Te Kaea, last week, which also provided some great video of our 2014 Starlight Parade.
Sean Delaney's work, particularly at Te Awhina Marae and in Touch Rugby competitions, on youth and health was the focus of his interview. Gladys Taingahue was recognised for her work in helping organise the Maori Wardens.
Both spoke clearly, in te reo but with English sub-titles, of their strong belief and dedication to helping others in the community.
Those of us who watched or took part in the Starlight Parade can also look to see if we came into shot for the camera crew.
To view the video, which aired on Friday January 9th, click on this link , or just Google "te kaea s12e009" and start the video. The segment on Motueka starts at the 13 minute 50 second mark.
