Scouts wash and buff to raise funds

Scouts Susanna Adams, Hamish Knowles, Joe Cunningham and Awatea Teaukura, with the help of a few parents, washed and buffed there way through a epic morning of car washing yesterday.

The Scouts are fundraising for the January 2014 Scout jamboree in Fielding, and used the parking area outside Resurgence Coffee and Retrotonic, beside the clock tower, to raise some further funds.

From 10 o'clock a steady stream of punters arrived to sit back with a coffee and have their car cleaned.

One lady said she had driven from Nelson to support the team - or maybe the coffee/wash combo was too much let go.

More than 40 cars received the scout treatment, raising a total of $280.
