Time to nominate an unsung community hero
June 21st, 2012
Do you know a community hero? Someone who tirelessly works for the benefit of others? Then it's time to think about nominating them for a Tasman District Council Outstanding Community Service Award.
The awards are a way of giving some well-deserved recognition to the people who have given years of time to our communities. There are a host of people throughout our District who work quietly away without pay and with precious little recognition to make our communities better places to live.
These awards aim to give some well-deserved recognition to these unsung heroes of our communities. It gives us an opportunity to make sure they are rewarded with the thanks they deserve for the long-term outstanding service they have given over the years.
Nominations, which close on close 30th June, are invited from the public. Nomination forms are available from all Council Offices and Libraries and give an outline of the type of information you need to include.
Nominees must be residents of Tasman District to qualify. They must have been involved in a range of voluntary activities that have benefited their community for 20 years or more.
For more information and nomination forms, go to the TDC website.
