Riwaka Rugby Football Club
The Riwaka RFC was established in 1884 and is one of New Zealand's oldest Rugby Football Clubs. We are affiliated to the Nelson Bays and Tasman Rugby Football Unions and are also a feeder club for The Canterbury Crusaders Super 14 Team and the Tasman Mako's 1st Division NPC Team.
Our club comprises many grades and teams, including 1st and 2nd Division and Junior Rugby.
Two of our most popular games would have to be "The Battle of the Bridge" and the "Nelson Bays NPC" The famous "Battle Of The Bridge" game is played against our Motueka sister club, Huia RFC, and has been a focus of local pride for many years. It's like a miniature "All Blacks vs Wallabies" game and played with the same vigour and friendly comradery as a Trans Tasman match. A game that local rugby fans will never miss.
