Whenua Iti Outdoors

Whenua Iti Outdoors is an educational, not for profit, charitable Trust offering a wide range of programmes for schools youth and individuals who seek personal development through the challenge of outdoor experiences.

Based in Lower Moutere, Whenua Iti Outdoors has been operating for over 30 years, with thousands of participants, from all over the country, coming through its programmes over that time.

The current programmes being offered by Whenua Iti include Trades Academy programmes in Leadership Development, Cultural Tourism and Adventure Tourism. Whenua Iti Outdoors also run multi day camps for schools, holiday programmes, corporate teambuilding courses and The Journey for youth.

These programmes are a mix of adventure based learning mixed with outdoor activities such as sea kayaking, caving, abseiling, tramping, camping, navigation and mountain biking.

Whenua Iti Outdoors is registered with Worksafe NZ as a registered provider of outdoor adventure activities, is NZQA accredited and all the instructors are highly trained and skilled facilitators. We were winners of the Prime Ministers Education Excellence Focus Takatu Award 2014.
