Playcentre provides a fun, safe space for children to learn through play, alongside their parents.
Paint, carpentry, books, music, climbing, playdough, blocks and baking … children decide how they want to learn through play. Parents enjoy a social and supportive environment including opportunities for (free) courses to help you in your role as your child's first teacher.
We have sessions Monday - Thursday from 9.00am - 12.00pm, and Friday 9.00am - 1.00pm.

What is Motueka Playcentre all about?
Playcentre is a uniquely New Zealand organisation and is run by families for families. We are a parent-led centre that offers low-cost, high quality education for children in the Motueka area.
We believe that it is through play that children learn best.
Motueka Playcentre includes a wide range of outdoor and indoor activities such as painting, collage & craft, playdough, jigsaw puzzles, carpentry, sandpits and climbing equipment, books, musical instruments, dancing and dress-ups. Children are encouraged to choose their own activity area and work there for as long as they wish.
What does Motueka Playcentre do?
Motueka Playcentre offers a safe and interesting learning environment for children from birth to 6 years, which focuses on child-initiated play and the importance of whanau/families as the first and most important educators of their children
Motueka Playcentre is run co-operatively by whanau/parents with all parents involved in day-to-day running of our centre as volunteers. We also employ trained supervision staff for every session to ensure we continue to provide high quality early childhood education for our children.
