Celebrate Valentines Day with poetry
January 31st, 2017
Love is in the air! And you can celebrate Valentines Day this year with the Romantic Poetry competition at Motueka Library.
There are four romantic categories to the competition - best love poem about your library, most romantic poem, best love poem about a pet and best love poem about a political figure.
The poems don't need to rhyme and they can be in any format you like.
People aged 16 years and over are welcome to enter and you can enter as many poems as you want. The only criteria are that the poem must be original, written by you, and feature love or romance.
There is no entry fee and entries are due by 28th February. Winners in each of the four categories will receive a certificate, and the winning poems will be announced on the Tasman District Libraries Facebook page as well as published on the library website.
Submit your poem by dropping it off at the issues desk at Motueka Library, or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org with Romantic Poetry Comp in the subject line by 28th February.
Make sure to include your name, contact details and the category you are entering your poem into.
