Quality quilt to be raffled for swimming pool
February 20th, 2017
A top-quality bed quilt made by the local crafting group Crafty Tarts will be raffled over the next two weeks to raise money for the Motueka Community Swimming Pool project.
The quilt is valued at around $1500, and features designs on both its sides (see photos below). It is 1.8 metres square in size. The final quilt stitching was done by NZ-renowned, Lower Moutere-based quilter Bev Dyke.
The Crafty Tarts team created the quilt in weekly Wednesday sessions last winter and spring, with the express goal of making it their contribution to the fundraising project to enclose the swimming pool for year-round use.
A roster of craft members will be selling tickets this Thursday February 23rd in New World supermarket, and the following Thursday outside the pool fundraising shop beside Muses Cafe. Many of their individual members are also selling tickets to contacts outside Motueka.
Second prize in the raffle is a woman's watch, valued at $300, donated by Westrupp Jewellers, and third prize a gift basket of Nutrimetics products worth $100. Tickets cost $2 each or three for $5.
