Show your preferences for Motueka projects
November 18th, 2016
The Motueka Community Board is consulting on which special local projects it should fund in the coming year, so here's your chance to show your preferences.
The Board has $47,570 to allocate towards special projects each year, and at present has two years worth accumulated as the 2015-16 allocation was held up by policy changes.
This money comes from the community board targeted rate paid by all Motueka ratepayers. The Board has identified several possible projects it could fund in 2016/17 and needs your help to prioritise them.
The simple, one-page survey asks you to rank the 12 proposed projects in priority order.
You may do the survey by using this link.
The projects are listed on the survey itself, but readers may scan the summary list of items below, which have been published previously in detail on Motueka Online:
- Upgrade of the saltwater baths floodgate
- Further upgrade of the CBD security camera network
- Installation of air conditioning in the Motueka Museum
- A new welcome sign to Motueka on College Road near the airport
- Kerb and channel along the eastern part of Old Wharf Road
- A footpath on the northern side of Wallace Street
- A footpath on the southern side of Courtney Street
- Two small improvement projects at Marahau
- Contribution to the litter cart operation
- A drink bottle fill point on High Street
- Contribution to redevelopment of the Port Motueka entrance area.
Note that there has been some unfortunate confusion about the 12th item. The survey talks about work being done at the old wharf, but in fact should refer to work under way at present by Keep Motueka Beautiful and TDC on the area at the (George Quay) entrance of the Motueka Inlet, near the present wharf, seaward of Talley's.

The let down - numbers only go up to twelve and if you put 12 several times it undoes them and asks for them to be filled etc etc. Not working for me. Actually I only wanted to put in a few numbers as I do not have a preference as to what order the rest come in but it won't allow me to do that. Oh dear! maybe its my bad computer management?
