Get cosy with a winter cup of tea

Tea anyone? What a cosy thought for winter! And now is the time for crafty people to create their entry for the Motueka Arts Council's winter Tea Cosy Competition.
As usual, we can expect a wonderful range of crafted and knitted creations, from the whimsical, whacky and humorous to the delicate and beautiful, with many original ideas along the way.
Entries to be in by Friday July 10th, and may be left at Potters Patch. Entry forms can be picked up at Potters Patch or you can email , or phone the convenor Shirley Wallace on .
Entries will be displayed in a tea-themed exhibition, to be held on Friday August 7th at St Thomas's Auditorium from 10.00am till 4.00pm, with prize giving at 3.00pm.
Tea cosies will be displayed along with other related objects like a teapot display put on by Crafty Tarts. They also hope to have old tea sets and tea cloths in their display.
There will also be demonstrations in the art of brewing a good cup of tea by Pomeroys of Nelson.
The competition sections include:
- Class 1, Creative Wool crafted Tea Cosy
- Class 2, Creative Fabric Inspired Tea Cosy
- Class 3, Most outrageous Tea cosy -any materials and method
- Class 4, Made by a person aged under 16 - any materials and method.
There will also be shop window displays of entries prior to the exhibition.
