Motueka hops promoted by US brewery
January 12th, 2014
[by David Armstrong]
A United States brewery has let us know that it is promoting hops grown in Motueka in its 2014 product line.
Occasionally this website receives emails from people in other countries who are keeping tabs on what Motueka is up to, and today we received this intertesting one:
Hello from Kennebunk, Maine, United States. My name is Ryan Collins and I am an employee of Sebago Brewing Company, here in Maine, the U.S. I thought you might like to know we are promoting a beer with hops grown in your area.
I actually camped on the beach were that ship pictured on your website is. There was a very nice farmer, who not only let me stay on the beach near his property, but brought me a fresh steak dinner one evening! I love your town, I remember staring down from Takaka Hill thinking this was the best place I had ever been.
Anyway, I thought it would be nice to let you know we are mentioning your town in our description of the beer, maybe you will have some guests as a result.
Kindest Regards, Ryan Collins
You can view their short promotional video by clicking on . Amusingly, you will also hear yet another way of pronouncing the name of our town.
