Our Town Motueka recognised for charitable events

The Motueka Events Charitable Trust, which is co-ordinated by the business support group Our Town Motueka, has been awarded regional runners up in the Arts and culture category at the Trustpower Community Awards evening last night.

The key events coordinated by the Trust are the Starlight Parade held just before Christmas and the Festival of Light, which is currently running. The award was a cheque for $250.

The citation read at the ceremony said: "Promoting projects that enhance the culture, art, education and heritage within the region is exactly what the Motueka Events Charitable Trust does best and that is why they are the trustpower community awards RUNNER-UP in the category of ARTS and CULTURE".

Linda Woodgate and David Ogilvie represented Our Town at the awards ceeremony.

Congratulations to all the OTM committee for the continued dedication of their time to raising the profile of the town of Motueka and to the community and its clubs for taking part in these events.
