Youth Council runs successful quiz night

On Friday the 10th of May the Tasman Youth Council hosted the first ever "Live Like a Legend" quiz night at the Motueka Recreation Centre to celebrate youth week, with a $200 cash prize up for grabs.
Fifteen teams participated in the quiz, which consisted of eight rounds with 10 questions each about World Knowledge, General Knowledge, Legends, Sports, Entertainment, Movies, Local Knowledge and more.
In first prize went to the Teletubbies which consisted of Tika King, Victoria Hart, Liam Reid and Gemma Lamont who won the $200 cash prize.
In second place was the Rainbow Warriors which consisted of Shania Nicholson, Rebecca Sandlant, Milly Townsend and Kora Appleton who received items such as belts, hats and beanies from Whitwells Menswear and Astrolabe.
The team Once Upon a Fairy Tale which consisted of Hayley Garlick, Abby Seymour, Hannah Jones and Hannah Gordan won best dressed and received spot prizes.
This quiz night, which was a huge success, was run by the Tasman Youth Council which consisted of Tiegan Maru, Jordan Francois, Jacob Linn, Sophie Harrison, Will Garland, Gabby Prestidge, Ellie Dennis, Alok D'Hondt, Scotty Dixon, Izzy George, Laura-Alice Langridge, Ella Tomsett, Isaac Bensemann and Harry Townsend.
