Family entertainers visit Motueka with two shows

October 22nd, 2013

Dunedin-based entertainers and "story strumpets" Kat Anna Fiddle (raconteur Kaitrin McMullan and multi-musician Anna Bowen) will be visiting Motueka on Saturday 9th November to perform two shows.

Motueka public library is making a special feline concession to allow Coco the dancing cat into the library, along with a cornucopia of musical instruments, string games and stories as Kat Anna Fiddle perform a family-fun show starting at 11am.

Later in the evening, for a complete change of tempo, they will be entertaining diners at T.O.A.D. Hall, as they perform "Tunes, Tales and Toasts" for a benefit concert for the Alzheimers Society.

"Stories are engaging for all ages" says Kaitrin, "and when you add music to the mix, it really breathes life into the experience".

The highly acclaimed story-telling duo have been performing together for over 10 years, in schools, folk festivals, museums and heritage days. Their shows sparkle with joy, humour, inspiration and material from all around the world as well as their own quirky original tales.

Story telling is done using fiddle, mandolin, guitar, puppets, percussion and pure magic. You can see an introduction to their skills by .

Since 2005 Kaitrin and Anna have toured many shows including their acclaimed “Healthy Eating” programme for the New Zealand National Heart Foundation. They have written and performed several shows for the Otago Early Settlers Museum, for festivals and community celebrations - for both adults and children.

Stories at library start at 11am, and the T.O.A.D. Hall evening variety concert starts at 7.30pm, with food available from 5.30pm. There is a $5 donation for the Alzheimers Society.
