Romantic dreams come true in Motueka

February 19th, 2013

For the past few weeks our region has been a hot spot for couples coming from further afield to make their vows to each other here rather than in their home town.

Susi and Jan (pictured right) from Germany really hit the headlines last week when they chose Motueka to hold the first ever skydive wedding in New Zealand, their celebrant Lester taking the plunge for the first time to help make their dreams come true.

This past weekend a lovely couple came back to the region where Kieran had proposed to Misty.

Misty had childhood memories of the area, and with her great grandmother living here, she invited her family and friends to join them in a stunning garden wedding with a delightful high tea and an evening reception at the Riverside Cafe.

Terri Everett, known as the Dream Maker, has been working hard to build a business that will bring destination seekers to this region and believes her efforts will help the local economy.

Misty and Kieran's wedding (photo below) involved 11 local businesses, from flowers, cakes, catering, celebrants, charter bus and more. But more importantly, these couples come to the region for more than just a couple of days, using accommodation, car hire and activities to name a few.

Terri has been building a team, which she calls her Dream Team, of providers of venues, products and services, and specialises in the more unusual and boutique events from proposals, anniversaries, reunions, thanks yous. Whatever the occasion, she listens to ideas and brings them to life.

With so many assets in our region, Terri belives we can tick everyone's boxes, from relaxation, thrills, wild life and stunning locations - just a few of what the region has to offer with something unique that matches every budget.

With their Sea Limousine and Dial a Picnic, a simple package can very easily be put together even at the shortest of notice, such as Caitlin and David experienced when they were redirected here from Christchurch and were blown away with what was possible in a 24-hour notice frenzy. The event went without a hitch as if there was a year to plan it.

Terri says in March we will start hearing announcements on More FM about a competition where a couple can win a stunning wedding and honeymoon package that will wow the world to what Nelson, Tasman and Golden Bay has to offer those who are looking for an alternative to a resort event, or an escape from the traditions of a home based occasion.

Terri hopes other local business will support her campaign by sharing her Facebook page, passing on her efforts to others and listening to More FM.
