Second exhibition under way at Resurgence Arts

Motueka's newest art gallery, Resurgence Arts at the clock tower corner, has opened its second exhibition featuring work by Sandra Campbell, a local artist and composer.

Sandra has been painting since 2008 when a frozen shoulder left her unable to play guitar. Painting somewhat relieved her from the agony caused by her injury.

Sandra's paintings show the true aspect of life around us - the mixture of old against the new, fauna and with portraits of the past. The photos on this page show four of her pieces in the exhibition.

Sandra will be in residence painting every now and again, also playing the guitar and entertaining all those that venture into her first exhibition.

The Resurgence Arts building, which also houses Retrotonic Collectibles, Resurgence Coffee and Cafe and Mary's Costume Hire, is becoming something of a hub for unconventional cultural activities.

The current exhibition will run until May 4th, and will also include works by Anne Marie Cleaver, Steven Robertson and Angie Gardiner.

I am delighted to see this happening. Second One! Great! We need more of this in Motueka! Art, Funk, Music, joy, community movements in a variety of wayzzz that joins us all! Excellent!
