Space sought for new sewing group
December 15th, 2013
Long-time arts and crafts lover Ann Marie Cleaver is looking at starting sewing classes for beginners and "sewing nuts", but she needs a room in which to conduct classes.
The classes would be for those who wish to learn, pass on knowledge or simply hang out with like minded people. "I am willing to teach those of all ages and genders interested in learning and creating, just like our mothers and grandmothers used to do," Ann Marie says.
"I am wondering if anyone has a good sized room or building available to use at a small cost to cover power etc. I am looking at a class or around 10 like-minded sewing nuts.
It's a project that Ann Marie has been thinking about for a long time, and lately she has been asked by many people to teach a craft that seems to have slipped away along with longevity.
"So I'm asking everyone out there, who may have or know of a great space, that we can use on a regular basis. We will need to leave some sewing machines in place and depending on the success of the venture, we may be tenants throughout winter, so will need somewhere that we can heat."
Anyone who has any ideas that may help should contact Ann Marie by emailing or phoning in the evening.
