Another happy community craft fair at Pokororo
January 14th, 2013
Uncertainties over the weather may have caused the turnout at the annual Pokororo Fair to be down a bit on previous years, but those attending yesterday's event enjoyed warm weather and colourful stalls.
With forecasts predicting rain by early afternoon, plenty of people took the drive up the Motueka Valley's west bank early. As it turned out, the weather held out reasonably well for much of the day, and the usual lineup of craft vendors were able to tempt buyers with their wares.
Unfortunately there were no blueberries for sale this year, but the visitors were treated to some bright entertainment of old hit standards by local musicians 'Kruizin'. Morning teas and other refreshments served in the old hall were an attraction yet again.
Below, two shoppers from Motueka compare notes during the early part of the day.
