Random book selection a fun library promotion
April 12th, 2013
[Press release]
'Hook up with a Random' is the latest catch-phrase for Tasman teens in a reading promotion at their local libraries over the next month.
"All the books are wrapped up so it is totally random - students might even get lucky with a free voucher from local businesses inside," says Young Adults Librarian Melissa Savage.
"It's a bit of fun to have a surprise to take home and the bonus is that you might discover a new writer or genre to enjoy.
"We've made it really easy - just grab a wrapped book at Richmond, Motueka or Takaka libraries and take it home. After reading it, you fill out a rating card which you return with your book to enter the larger prize draws."
The Hook Up promotion is open to all college-age teens in the Tasman District and finishes on the last day of the holidays. Winners of the book vouchers from Paper Plus and Take Note will be announced at the final Wrap It Up celebrations during Youth Week 4 - 10th May, at each of the participating libraries.
So if you're a teen reader - take a risk and hook up at your local library. What have you got to lose?
