Council offers free bike check-up
January 9th, 2013
Does a flat tyre, squeaky chain or worn out brake mean your bike has taken up residence in the shed? Now is the time to get your bike out and come to one of the Council's free Big Bike Tune Ups during January.
The Get Moving Big Bike Tune Up (BBTU) is a chance to get your bike back on the road in time for Get Moving Family Fun Rides starting in February.
Mechanics at a the BBTU events will give the bikes a quick maintenance check and tune up to make sure you bike is safe, road-worthy and fits you. The Motueka BBTU will be held at the Skate Park, Old Wharf Road, on Saturday January 19th any time from 2pm to 4pm.
If the work required is a more than a tune up the mechanics will advise on what’s involved and contacts for the local bike shops. The BBTUs are being run in partnership with the Tasman Skatepark Tour, the Motueka heat of that tour being held at the same time at the Skate Park. Look for the Get Moving flags.
