Tasman's Got Talent coming to Motueka

October 31st, 2012
[TDC press release]

Following auditions in Golden Bay last week, Tasman's Got Talent moves to Motueka this weekend, where a full schedule of contestants awaits their 5 minutes of fame at local auditions.

A total of 22 acts, made up of over 50 performers will grace the stage of the Motueka Memorial Hall from 10am this Saturday (3rd November), competing in solo, duo and group categories. Judges Brent Maru, Kath Bee and Councillor Trevor Norris will have a tough assignment crowing Motueka's talented superstars.

Tasman Karaoke Superstars 2011 Junior champion Poppy Ford heads the Solo Junior section. She will be up against 6 other rising young stars, representing Richmond, Wakefield, Moutere and Motueka townships.

An acrobatic aerial skills performance from Kyla Rayward and Maia Adam will be a much anticipated performance in the duo section, with the dance sequence from Ben Berkett and Abby Carter should also be a good watch.

A strong line up will contest the solo senior category, with veteran performer Paul Bond to entertain with a singing ukulele number. Regular Tasman Karaoke Superstars finalist Brooke Carey is also on show, premiering an original song she has written on guitar.

The internationally, all-conquering Origin Dance Crew heads the group section, along with the Punk Chicks, a young up-and-coming hip hop contingent from Brooklyn School. An all-adult senior 10-piece ukulele and singing group are also enrolled to take to the stage.

Winning performance from each of the four category winners gain automatic selection into the TGT Grand Final, where the online community votes on their favourite performance.

Online voting through www.jamonline.co.nz opens on Monday 12th November, and closes on Friday 23rd November. The final heat will take place in Richmond next weekend, and is also full to capacity.
