Huia Netball wants your vote in Grant scheme

The Huia netball club is asking all Motuekans to get behind their attempt to win an ANZ Netball Grant, with voters having the chance to win game tickets.

The ANZ Netball Grant Scheme says club and school netball is at the heart of communities all around New Zealand. Grants cand be used for training and coaching equipment, an upgrade of uniforms, or a helping hand to spruce up the facilities.

All that netball clubs need to do is get voting support from their communities, through the scheme's website. $100,000 is available to be won.

Huia Netball has applied for a $655 grant, saying they would purchase new sets of netballs and first aid kits for all teams in their club. Now they want Motueka people who can access their computer to place their votes.

In their application, Huia said, "Every year we need to upgrade our netballs and first aid kits from general wear and tear. We seem to be endlessly fundraising each year (sponsorship is nearly impossible to get) to keep supplying our 3 teams with uniforms, balls and first aid kits. Unfortunately, all necessities for playing netball! We are asking for a total of $655.00 for 15 new balls and 3 new first aid kits."
