Changes next week for Freeview UHF frequencies
August 7th, 2012
[by David Armstrong]
Freeview TV watchers in Motueka with UHF aerials will need to re-tune their TVs or set-top boxes next Tuesday, August 14th, after the some of the signal frequencies from Mt Campbell are changed.
The changes will occur only on the Freeview|HD transmission, which is received via a UHF aerial on the roof, and not for households which are watching Sky or Freeview satellite services, nor likewise for people who have not yet changed to watching digital television.
If you are watching Freeview|HD (received via UHF aerial), you will see a message on your screen during the up-coming week, before the change. If you lose Freeview|HD reception on August 14th, you will need to re-tune your Freeview|HD digital TV or set-top box.
Re-tuning can be done through the on-screen menu using your remote control, or by following simple instructions available on www.retune.co.nz. Wait until 6am on the morning of August 14th before taking this action.
If you manage a building or complex, such as an apartment building, student hostel, motel or retirement village, that provides Freeview|HD TV services to residents using a shared common aerial, you should talk to your installer or technician before the changes in your area occur about what you need to do.
For any questions regarding the change, please visit www.retune.co.nz or call toll free .
