Workshop to help businesses manage waste

July 3rd, 2012

Motueka business owners will be able to learn how to handle waste materials and even make savings in the process, at a workshop to be held by Nelson-based Waste Education Services in two weeks.

Waste Education Services is part of the Nelson Environment Centre, a charitable not-for-profit organization that works with schools, businesses and the wider community to look for ways to reduce waste to landfill. WES covers the whole of the Nelson Tasman region, and funding for this event is provided by Tasman District Council.

Those attending the free workshop will learn how some local Motueka businesses have tackled the problems of waste generation and the savings they have made by changing the way they operate.

They will also have the opportunity to raise waste issues that are directly affecting their own business and together with local waste service operators seek solutions to the problem.

The workshop will be held at Motueka Top 10 Holiday Park Conference Centre, 10 Fearon Street, on Wednesday 18th July from 7.30am - 9.30am.

To register or to find out more information, contact Mary Curnow at Waste Education Services on ext 3 or email . Registrations are required for catering purposes. Please let Mary know of any special dietary requirements.
