March 31st, 2011
[Press release]
Nelson Women's and Children's Refuge Services are now running the Stopping Domestic Violence Tamariki and Rangatahi programmes in Motueka. These are education groups for children and young people aged 5 to 17 years.
This programme is aimed specifically at children and young people who have experienced or witnessed violence at home. The programme aims to provide support and information to children and young people, strengthen self esteem, develop safety plans, and assist participants to build relationships and to learn non-violent methods of conflict resolution.
The programme is delivered by Marlo Frontiera and Marv Edwards who create a relaxed, supportive and fun environment for learning and sharing. For all referrals and more information, please contact Louise Wilkinson at Get Safe (Motueka) on or e-mail
