Happy crowd at Parklands Turangawaewae festival
March 26th, 2011
[by David Armstrong]
A large and happy crowd mingled, ate and laughed at Parklands School's Turangawaewae multi-cultural festival yesterday as they were entertained by a variety of performances by the school's range of ethnic groups.
The festival, which was postponed from a month ago after the Christchurch earthquake, was held in ideal weather. Stalls sold foods associated with several cultures, groups and individuals took the stage, and many of the littlies tried out the various fun activities provided by the Recreation Centre as part of the associated KidsFest games.
Here are a selection of photos taken during the late afternoon. If anyone wants a full-size original version of any of these photos sent to them by email, please request by emailing the editor here, indicating which photo(s) you would like.
