Thursday social cycling group takes off

A small group of social cyclists have been enjoying the good weather and the Thursday evening cycling trips during the festive season.

Last Thursday's route took the cyclists through Thorps Bush (the leader got lost but all was well - the bikers were soon back on track), past the cemetery, over a Keep Motueka Beautiful track, negotiating a narrow wooden bridge and then along the track to the Kumaras past the golf course and the beach.

The scenery was great and it was just perfect being out in the early evening sunshine. Numerous families were picnicking, walking their dogs, biking or enjoying a stroll.

The Thursday evening cycling group would like to extend an invitation to anyone who has a bike to come biking next Thursday evening 13th January and every Thursday thereafter - weather permitting.

Meet outside Coppins Bike Shop at 5.45pm. No special clothing apart from a helmet, no fancy bike and very little expertise required. It is casual and social, and good exercise all rolled into one. Be active in 2011. Txt or phone enquiries to .
