Bright sunshine bathes crowds at Pokororo Fair
January 10th, 2011
Another perfect day greeted the hundreds of fair-goers yesterday at the Pokororo Community Hall grounds on the west bank of the Motueka River valley.
The annual fair has been running for 35 years now, and is renowned for the range and quality of the craft and food products offered by people in the region.
Food stalls did brisk trade, as did the home-made refreshment menu in the hall. Many snackers sought shady spots to down their lamb sandwiches or baked potatoes as the sheltered valley setting drew the sun's heat. Parking spots were also at a premium along the approaching roads.
Here are a few photos taken by Tom Watkins.
