Top snapper to speak at photo competition prizegiving

June 1st, 2011

Highly rated Nelson photographer Don Pittham will be the keynote speaker at this year's prizegiving for the SeniorNet Motueka Digital Interest Group's photographic competition.

The prizegiving will take a different format this year, as there is now no Festival of Lights event. The venue will be the SeniorNet Rooms in Pah St, and the event on Saturday 18 June will commence at 9.30am, running to about 10.30am.

The competition judge and keynote speaker, Don Pittham, FPSNZ, ANPSNZ, will show his photos on the big new TV screen in the SeniorNet Rooms. Don is recognized throughout New Zealand for his variety of styles, topics and techniques to capture effective and beautiful photographs. As well as winning many prestigious national awards he is also a very entertaining speaker.

The sponsored prizes (worth over $3000) will be presented to the photographers whose photos win 1st or 2nd place in the seven categories of the photo competition, by Motueka Community Board Chairman David Ogilvie. There will be a lucky gift draw and Devonshire teas for an entry of $2.00.

People can then view the exhibition of accepted photographs in the Motueka Museum and Muses café. This year 300 photos will be on display, including 40 photos in the larger format of 10" x 8" in a mat (board frame) until July 29.
