Garden stroll a festival of spring colour
October 18th, 2010
Unseasonably cool weather and a morning of sideways rain failed to dampen the pleasure of Motueka garden lovers who took the rare opportunity to stroll through the beautiful garden of Ann and Terry Devereaux in Green Lane over the weekend.
The weather may have kept the visitor numbers down somewhat, but the Clock Tower Trust nevertheless benefited from the donations left by those who marvelled at the colourful, international-standard cottage garden and surrounding productive land, dominated by azaleas and rhododendrons but enhanced by a very wide variety of other colourful species - many quite special - growing alongside the meandering garden walk.
Ann and Terry receive visitors from garden clubs and other interested groups from time to time, but this was the first time in two years that the area was open to the public. Let's hope it's not the last!
