Danger at Trewavas Street - Everett Street intersection

I am writing to say how dangerous the intersection Of Trewavas Street and Everett Street is, down at Port Motueka. Having just been down there last night and coming back along to the end of Trewavas St I had four large 4 wheel drives drive through without giving way. They didn't even slow, causing me to slam brakes on.

Luckily I had seen them as the bush around the corners of the intersection make visibility practically nil. This is not the first time cars have not given way while going straight ahead. The layout of the intersection seems to be wrong. Something needs to be changed here before a serious smash occurs.

The intersection is confusing as to who has R-O-W. The two streets (Ward & the one to Talley's) add to the uncertainty. I think it needs better signage and some supportive road-marking. I will send in a "Service Request" on Monday.
