Grant Douglas's Garden Diary
Week 47: Fourth week of November
Just realised that I have not been putting Sprouting Broccoli on the list. Very remiss of me as it's a standard year round crop. I find the variety Marathon extremely good as it can be grown, with good results, all year round - grow it quickly, lots of food, and keep on top of the caterpillars, either by covering the plants, or using an organic insecticide such as Dipel, which only kills the caterpillars. Encourage predator wasps by planting umbelliferous plants and they will parasitise the caterpillars and thus reduce their numbers but they will not completely eradicate them.
Same list as last week. Remember that although it feels like February, its still only late spring.
