Motueka Pottery Workshop Inc.

The workshop began in 1974 when a group of local people interested in making pots formed a club. The workshop members rent a building in the Riwaka Domain from TDC and have all the equipment there necessary for producing pottery.

Special events:
"Mot Pot" members take part in workshops by visiting potters, exhibitions, pottery tours, raku days and pit firing weekends.

Join "Mot Pot":
New members are always welcome to join the workshop. Even if you've never played with clay before, come along and give it a go. Members of the workshop run classes for beginners and these are advertised in advance. The joining fee is $25 and the annual subscription is $25. Members are issued with a key so they may use the building at any time.

Club morning:
Members gather every Tuesday from 9.30am to 12pm at the Riwaka Domain workshop; this gives newer potters an opportunity to ask experienced members for advice. Come along and meet group members at this relaxed and friendly weekly occasion.

The Annual Riwaka Market Day, January 2:
This very popular community event attracts locals and visitors alike every year after the Christmas-New Year rush. Workshop members run the market and their stall offers quality pottery at bargain prices, a stall for children to make pottery and hand-made pottery animals at the Children's Lucky Dip. Make sure you put this showcase of local craft talent, food, clothes and much more in your new diary!
